Your Questions About Cosmetic Procedures For Acne Scars

Helen asks…

What is the most effective and inexpensive means of removing acne scars?

I am a guy and I have several acne scars I would like to do away with.

I’ve researched microdermabrasion a bit and I would prefer a cosmetic alternative.
I have found several products by Blinc that conduct MD on the skin without the need
of an actual procedure. Such as “Ingrown” by Blinc. It’s a one-step balm.

I’m looking for the most effective product before investing any money.

Note: I am on a budget as most of us are.

I sincerely appreciate your input.

Lisa asks…

cosmetics laser treatment for acne scar?

mmm so i have a 2mm scar on my nose which has being there for about 2 years now. Recently i was talking to my friends and they mentioned that laser treatment may do the trick.

i was just wondering if the procedures are complicated and how much it will cost to get rid of a 2mm scar.

and also if there is any other treatments which i could use and the time it takes them to show effect

thank you

rachel answers:

Laser treatment would be WAY too much and a scar that small isn’t that awful and worth that much money..

I would say go to the pharmacy and ask for a scar fading cream. There are a TON out there so just look and see what you think will work and try one. They also have freckle faders and acne scar fading.. Which is the same thing.

I have heard very good things about these and assume the work pretty well but have not tried it myself… Although I do use coco butter and melt it and put it on scars, stretchmarks, etc. And that works well. Maybe not as fast but it will make a difference & its def a more natural approach!

Good luck! ;)

Donna asks…

Is there any way to decrease acne scarring without having a procedure?

Hi, so I am 17, going to be 18 next month, and I suffer form servere acne. I use specific products to treat my acne, and it does greatly reduce the acne on my face, but sometimes I still get large and painful zits. I cannot take any form of tetrocycline, when I did it decreased the hearing in my right ear, and I don’t have enough money for cosmetic surgery or a peel or anything like that. So my question is if anyone knows any product that I can buy to help fill in acne scars, I don’t have many, but the few I do have hit the light in just the right spots on my face the they are obvious to anyone who isn’t blind. I need something cheap, and that honestly works, thanks for the help.

rachel answers:

There really isn’t any product that will eliminate the scars. In time, even without a procedure, they will fade to some extent.
Washing your face with a mildly abrasive scrub (don’t scrub on any existing pimples) will help with cell turn-over and might be helpful to you. I don’t know if you are male or female. If you could buy a matte facial powder and apply it only to the scars, you will get a more even look. I do know how you feel, as I suffered from acne scarring. When grown, I saved my money and had a procedure that did improve them a great deal.

Linda asks…

Treatment for the face?

what is a good product or cosmetic procedure that can get rid of acne scarring like pits and enlarged pores?

rachel answers:

One of the best things I have found for scarring is Vitamin E. You can find all kinds of gentle soaps with Vitamin E in it and it does wonders. I used lotion on stretch marks and scars on my arms so I’m sure that soaps with Vitamin E in it should do fine. Just keep in mind if you have any skin allergies.

Chris asks…

I want to get 3 cosmetic surgeries asap?

Yea so, I forced my jaw out all my llife to make my appearance look better. but it has caused me breathing problems, stress which caused me severe acne which led to acne scarring. and I always had big ears.
I want to get 3 of these things done.

I want to get orthoganic surgery to fix my jaw.
I want to get laser surgery done to help erase some ugly scarring
I want to pinn back my ears, because I hate them

I am joining the military so I could get the money to pay for all these surgeries.
How muchh money would I need to get all these procedures done?
and how long will it take?

please help.
ty

rachel answers:

Don’t pin back your ears! It’s not worth it, trust me. It’s one of the most painful procedures you can possibly get. They basically cut your ears off and resew them. Grow out your hair. Unless you’ve an elf or have something medically wrong with your ears, this procedure is really not worth the pain or your money. As for the rest of the surgeries, get a consultation and go right ahead if you wish.

Your Questions About Anti-aging Cream Sensitive Skin

Sandra asks…

rachel answers:

I heard a very effective cream called Metronidazole is said to help. You must take great care when applying this cream not to get any in your mouth or eyes. Or maybe you should go to a specialist and consult about your problem.

Chris asks…

what is the best anti-aging cream for sensitive skin?

rachel answers:

*Many anti aging creams(and countless other skincare/maintenance products) fail to do what is claimed and they have toxic, skin harming, and thus skin aging ingredients. Some have been found to cause itchy, blistery skins, rashes, bumps and even acne. Confirm with a Google Search

To keep skin healthy and young looking massage with totally safe and natural oils. They will naturally benefit it in countless ways. They feed/nourish skin with many beneficial rejuvenating nutrients and massage exercises and conditions many of face and neck muscles whilst skin is being firmed, tightened and made smoother. This combats the weakening of muscles as we age. It is this weakening that leads to sagging and in turn wrinkles and lines. Even the first day you will have a healthier, glowing, tighter and younger looking skin.

If focus massage on wrinkles, lines, crows feet as detailed in my other answers, it will quickly not just fade them a little but greatly minimize them and largely prevent others forming. Some have testimonials from happy users.
To prevent skin pulling, first tighten by partially opening mouth and pulling lips firmly back against teeth. Tightens most of face.
Use any natural oil – olive, coconut, grape seed and almond work well.

Betty asks…

whats a good anti aging cream for sensitive acne prone skin?

rachel answers:

PREVENTION before it happens is the best answer to anti-aging SPECIALLY TO SENSITIVE acne prone skin.

1. Staying out of the sun. If you have gotten sunburned before you’re 18, you’ll have dark spots or brown spots, some get freckles or skin tags . . .and those will get darker and bumpier as you get older. It’s best not to make them darker or bumpy, and staying out of the sun will prevent that. Just from the heat, can make anyone flaky. I use my wide brim hat everywhere I go, and while I’m inside a car as a rider, I use blanket over the window or sit where it’s shady. Lotions does not protect you from sunburn, same with cancer and could permanently discolor your skin. Lotions does not protect you from skin disease.

2. Don’t go in a tanning bed. You’ll aged 10-15 years faster.

3. Bathing or showering in hot water and too much chlorine can make you looking like ‘dishpan hands’. Use warm water.

4. Use a washcloth when taking a shower. I use Bath & Body (Suave, Dove, Irish Spring, etc.) wash for body & face. No baths! The less you’re in the water, the less you’ll get wrinkles.

5. For oily skin, the less you fuss with your skin, the better. Keep your face oil-free & dry from dirt & perspiration. Blot it with a tissue or blotter, and keep them dry. Using powder foundation, blush & eyeshadow is best. Less is best, less product poisoning. Google Elizabeth Taylor when she’s 16, then Google her when she’s 79.

6. Servings of 3-5 fresh fruits & vegetables daily. Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN
All the vitamins & minerals you need for good skin care comes from all the healthy foods you eat from Mother Nature.

7. For your hands, wear gloves winter, spring, fall, and wear gloves for every chores you do, so you don’t have to wash them often. In the garden, office, kitchen. Thank God for those! Too bad they don’t have ones for feet.

Kim Kardashian had botox done! Google her. She said she won’t ever have it again!

Donald asks…

what are the best anti-wrinkle/anti-aging creams for sensitive skin?

something I can buy in the drugstore.

rachel answers:

I have very sensitive skin. I know of some products that are sold in drugstores like Walgreens but I have never tried them. Supposedly Olay’s skincare line is pretty good I have read about that one and it gets good reviews. However for the anti-aging anti-wrinkle products you are going to pay around $20.00. For me if I am going to spend that much I will throw in an extra 10 and march myself straight to a Clinique counter. They have WONDERFUL stuff. Truthfully it is the only skincare line I have been able to use effectively. When a product is a little more than I can spend I turn to Ebay and find sellers of NEW and UNOPENED Clinique products at a huge discount.

Your Questions About Hair Loss Shampoo

Sandra asks…

Has anybody used a hair loss shampoo called Zulvera?

I have been researching this all natural shampoo called Zulvera, and is supposed to treat hair loss, male pattern baldness. Im just curious if anyone has tried it, and with what if any results. Please let me know :]

rachel answers:

It’s funny you mention Zulvera…

I was just talking to a high school friend last week about his hair loss and he was telling me that Zulvera herbal shampoo not only helped him in reducing the loss of his hair, but it is also helpful in his hair regrowth….

I guess different products work for different people…and Zulvera has been working for him…

Hope this helps…

Steven asks…

What is the best hair loss shampoo or treatment?

I have bald spots on my head. I think it’s because my roots are weak from a lot of scratching that I did cause my scalp is dry and itchy. My doctor prescribed me a foam that helps stop all the itchiness but now I’m left with bald spots. I have really thin hair. Anyone here knows of a good shampoo or treatment that helps hair grow back.

rachel answers:

I was experiencing hair loss too, from stress, but even before that I was losing more hair than I was happy with. I started using Wen cleaning conditioner and really enjoyed massaging my scalp with it, leaving it in while I was in the shower. The tea tree brand is supposed to be good for dry and itchy scalp, but the Lavender works well for that, and that’s what I use (not because my scalp is dry, but because I like the smell, and it creates volume, moisturizes, and nourishes the scalp). I have stopped losing hair and I can see new growth around my forehead, and my hair isn’t receding along my hairline anymore. The line also has oils that you can apply directly to your scalp.

And sometimes, when I feel the need for an old-fashioned shampoo, I use Avalon Organics Lavender shampoo, because it doesn’t have sulfates in it (but it still lathers). I get the same nourishing effect of the lavendar oils, but it cleanses and gives a little more volume. If you can avoid sulfates, you can probably see more hair growth.

Linda asks…

Does hair loss shampoo make your hair thicker and how does it work?

My hair has gotten so thin lately and i usually have really thick hair. i’m only 15 and was wondering if there is any cheap hair loss treatments i can afford? I’m from the UK btw

rachel answers:

Supplement your diet with biotin capsules. That would help and you can take a lot of it without getting sick or overdosing. I’ve known people who have had success in reversing thinning hair with biotin supplementation.

Also, if you aren’t doing so already, start taking a green powder supplement daily. VerdiSyn is hard to beat for this. Perfect Food by Garden of Life is another good green powder. A tablespoon of a green powder a day in water or juice (preferably the former, without sugar) will ensure that you are getting all the B-Vitamins that you need in your diet, as well as some essential enzymes and minerals as well.

By the way, you are right to avoid meat as much as possible and to only eat organic meat once in a while (if at all). The antibiotics, hormones, and other additives injected in regular meat plays havoc on the body, and makes one fat from the hormones, among other things. Not to mention the fact that meat is also hard to break down and often goes undigested for long periods of time, especially among big meat eaters. Pork, pork sausage, and ham should especially be avoided completely, as these are very hard to digest – not even taking into account all the other problems, like the nitrates and nitrites added.

Jenny asks…

Has anybody used IHT 9 hair loss shampoo?

I have been searching for a hair loss solution and found this IHT9 shampoo for hair loss and hair growth. I want to know if it works for male pastern hair loss and baldness. They claim it to be Natural and Ayurvedic.

rachel answers:

I have been using IHT 9 as my regular hair care shampoo almost since last 2 years. I had been experiencing severe hair loss at that point of time and IHT9 stopped it within couple of weeks. The fact that this shampoo contains only natural herbs prompted me to fix this as my regular shampoo. Now, all of us do require a shampoo and since it does not have any harsh chemical it is a wise idea to use IHT 9. As far as male pattern baldness is concerned, IHT 9 has Fenugreek as one the 9 Ayurvedic ingredients. Fenugreek has beneficial effects on hair growth, lustre and health. Fenugreek is thought to work by increasing the dilation of blood vessels to the scalp, thereby improving blood circulation and nutrient supply to this area. Minoxidil also works in the same way for male pattern baldness condition.

Since, IHT9 does not have chemicals – it is safe and without side effects.

One point that all of us should keep in mind that any therapeutic product’s efficacy on all individuals can not be same. So you can use it for couple of days (not big money required) and within this period you would realize if it suits you!

The herbal ingredients (also used in IHT 9 shampoo), their action and benefits are explained in this page:
