Why do Asians look very young when they aren’t?

A Central Asian
Image via Wikipedia

I have an Asian friend she is 17 and she looks like she was 9 or 10. She is very cute and looks like a doll. And her mom is in her 30s and looks like she is in her 20s. Why is it? i don’t know if it’s due to their skinniness because i seen many skinny white girls that don’t look younger they look their age. I don’t think the height matters because i seen short and skinny Hispanics which are rare to find that look their age. what makes Asians look way younger?

I’m 25 and I look like I’m 16, because of nutrition ( lots of fat foods and protein ). Oh, and lots of water.

Youthful facial features, cultural habits of avoiding the sun, and a diet rich in nutritious foods.

Well it depends. But I’ve noticed that many Asians I know like to put on sunblock. And sunblock helps slow down the aging process because the sun damages the skin giving you things like age spots. Trust me, I know Asians who are obsessed with it and I’m Asian too =D

Round faces, small chins and noses, all features typically associated with youth. As you get older your face thins out and your nose grows until you die, so people with smaller features (except for eyes) look younger

they take better care of themselves, most probably don’t smoke and do drugs and they eat fresh foods instead of McDonald’s and Burger king. that could be the reason.

    Diet and Skincare
East Asian diets typically consist of lots of fruits and vegetables and very little fried food
Ethnic People have more melanin in their skin, which protects the skin from UVA/UVB rays and sun damage.
Also,in many parts of Asia, skincare is very important, especially in East Asia.

I’d say their diet. It’s full of healthy, natural products. Less processed food, more natural ingredients that provide the nutrients the body needs is definitely the way to slow aging. Look at all those marketing angles for diets and products for a healthier life, they are all promoting the use of natural ingredients.

Because their diet is really good and contains grains, vegetables, seafood and rarely meat. They also use herbal medicine and chrysanthemum flowers to make creams for their skin. If you’ve ever heard of Wei East products then you’ll know. She is 47 but looks way younger than she is. She says she has been using herbal medicines ever since she was a little girl and her skin is amazing. It is so wrinkle free and gorgeous.

Because they don’t go sun tanning, tanning cause premature aging of the skin.

You must not get out much because both white and especially hispanic look young for there age. It must be a gift from god because all asians look the same. But i never noticed..

Two possible reasons…other than genetics of course.

    1. probably the reduced amount of sugar in their diets; asians generally eat a healthier diet of fruits and vegies and tend to avoid eating a lot of sugary sweets. When it comes to your looks, sugar is the Grim Reaper, so try to avoid it.

    2. reduced amount of sun exposure. some asian cultures find paleness beautiful, so they stay out of the sun. unlike caucasians who bask in its ulraviolet rays.

well many, if not most, have smooth skin texture (a healthy diet helps), round-ish faces (less prominent bone structure) and they aren’t really hairy! just features that kids of other races grow out of:)

Genetics and healthy eating habits go along way. If you’re eating fish and vegetables and all kinds good healthy foods “that a lot of Asian people do eat” then this plays a part in a “youthful” appearance. If you’re eating junk food all day like hot dogs and McDonald’s and you’re not getting all the Vitamins and minerals that your body requires then this over time is going to have an effect on your over all health and non youthful appearance.

The sun is also a youthful appearance killer. I see all these young youthful looking white girls sitting in the sun just damaging their skin to the point that by the time their in their late 20’s and 30’s they are going to look 10 years older then they really are.
